Rising artist Famba Nyika continues to make waves in the music industry with the release of his new single track “Matatoo” today.
This release follows his heartfelt tribute album “Ndovhura Hombe,” which was launched in September, as well as his recent album “Wrong Turn,” released in November.
The new single “Matatoo” speaks to important societal issues and explores love relationships, combining poignant themes with a captivating sound.Famba Nyika, widely known to his fans, also hailed producer Dee Masona for his incredible work on the track, stating, “I acknowledge his contributions to the overall sound and feel of the music.”
The single serves as a tribute to Famba Nyika’s mentors, highlighting the profound impact both Baba Harare and Andy Muridzo have had on his musical journey.“I learned a lot from both of them,” said Famba Nyika.
He reflected on their collaborative history, stating, “We worked closely together for over three years, where I served as Baba Harare’s bassist.Baba Harare was not just my boss; he was a true mentor who taught me so much about songwriting, vocal arrangements, and performing professionally.”
He has, however, denied accusations of being a copycat, saying he is merely emulating his mentors, Baba Harare and Andy Muridzo, in his work.
Currently, he is collaborating with Andy Muridzo, who is providing him with opportunities to perform at his shows. “Working with Andy has taught me a lot about writing songs and arranging vocals.Last year, I traveled to Europe with him, and he has been a great source of inspiration,” Famba Nyika added.
Famba Nyika is set to perform in South Africa later this month, where fans are eagerly anticipating the chance to experience his new music live.“I would like to thank the audience for supporting me in my live shows and other endeavors. My music is greatly receiving airplay on local radio stations, and I’m thrilled to share my journey with my fans,” he expressed.
